Fall

Published by pattye under Living Edit This

I love fall.  The only thing that I do not like is the falling leaves.  No, it’s not that I have to rack the leaves.  I live in a very wooded area and much of my yard is wooded, so we do not rack the leaves.  I hate that now I can see my neighbors.  In the summer, we cannot see anything but trees.  We cannot even see the road.  The first trees to loose their leaves here are the ones that allow my neighbors to see my house and mine theirs.

We moved here for our privacy.  Believe me, I would not live this far out and live right next to someone.  I could live in town and live like that.  I grew up in the country and when I married, I moved to an apartment, then to a mobile home and then to a subdivision.  I hated all three of those.  We built our dream home in 2003.  It’s a cedar sided home on 10 acres.  We are 20 minutes from the nearest town and 30 minutes from a Walmart.  I do wish I lived nearer to town for the convenience, but I love the peace and quiet living here.  I have one neighbor who lives past me.  Basically, I see that neighbor and the mailman pass by each day and that’s it.  If anyone else passes by, we take notice. I always joke that I see more wildlife than people here.
