Baby, it’s cold outside!
The weather has turned sharply cold here. It got down to freezing for the first time this season last night. I am trying to conserve propane, so I am using a space heater in my office. We have not used the fireplace yet. We try to put that off as long as possible since it’s so much work. We have to bring the wood up to the screened porch and then keep feeding the fireplace. We have to clean ashes out about every 2-3 days. The glass doors have to be cleaned with a special cleaner and/or a razor. It’s a pain, but it saves us money and it is nice to sit in front of a roaring fire on cold evenings.
The weather is supposed to warm up after today, so the rest of the week should be much nicer. Halloween is even supposed to be warm. The kids will not have to cover up their outfits with coats, so I’m sure they are happy.
