Holiday Time
Holiday season is fast approaching. My sister-in-law emailed me this week to ask if I wanted to bring the green bean casserole to Thanksgiving. I’m the green bean casserole person in the family. I love it! It’s so easy to make.
We only have our family thanksgiving every other year due to divorces in the family. My nephews and niece visit their other parent and families on the years that they are not with us. Our family thanksgivings are fun and I guess we are lucky because everyone gets along. We do not have any arguing at our gatherings.
After thanksgiving, it is time to get ready for our cookie-baking day. We started this tradition last year. The females of the family get together at my house and we bake cookies. I have a double oven and a lot of counter space, so my house is idea. We listen to Christmas music as we bake. We had a lot of fun with it last year and have it scheduled for the second weekend in December this year. I will start decorating my house soon, so that it is all ready. Last year, I had Thanksgiving here and then the next day had to decorate the house for Christmas because we were baking cookies the next day. I’ll have breathing room this time.
