My Candy Christmas
Do you have a theme for your Christmas decorations?
I have a candy theme at my house. The tree is decorated with a M&M garland, gingerbread ornaments, and various candy ornaments.
I do have a few exceptions to my candy theme. I have a few greyhound ornaments. That can’t come as a shock.
(Click on the small pictures to make them larger.)
I also have a Cocker Spaniel ornament. It is in memory of Sami, our cocker, who died at the age of 15 in 2006.
In my kitchen nook, I have this cute display. I think the gingerbread house is what started my whole candy theme five years ago.
This sets on my counter.
I would love to get a new tree. I think we have had this one for 20 years. I keep it stored in our basement fully decorated. It can be a pain carrying up and down the steps, but it’s worth not having to decorate it each year.
Finally, here is our fireplace. Yes, there are only three stockings. There should be four. We have two dogs. It hasn’t been in my budget to buy new stocking holders and new stockings. My husband says one of the dogs can have his stocking. Have I mentioned that my husband is not a Christmas person? I think that may be the subject of an upcoming blog.
I didn’t decorate my kitchen this year. We have the same stone in our kitchen as in our living room and I usually decorate the ledge in the kitchen. I have to climb on a chair to do it and I just haven’t felt like doing it yet.
That’s a quick glimpse into my candy themed Christmas. Hope you enjoyed it.
