It’s Christmas for Me
Today is our family’s Christmas celebration. It is also my nephew’s birthday. I think it’s his 13th. I used to be great with all their ages, but it gets harder to keep track as the years go on. We will celebrate Jacob’s birthday first and then switch to Christmas mode after that. We will have pizza, hot wings, nachos, little smokies, rye bread and dill dip, deviled eggs, lots of cookies, birthday cake and probably other things. We try to keep our Christmas celebrations easy when it comes to food. I am bringing the rye bread and dill dip. I haven’t had that since I left the corporate world in 1995. I have never made it, but always liked it when it was served at work. It should be extremely easy to put together.
Yesterday, I left “Two Greyhound Town” again. We went out for lunch. We had a gift card, so we used that. We also shopped at the dollar store. We purchased quite a few things. I think it’s fun shopping at the dollar store because you never know what you will find. They had name brand fabric softner, so I bought a bottle. I would have bought more, but I wasn’t for sure that I would like it. I am picky about fabric softner, but I refuse to spend $5 which is the price of the kind that I really like. I have been trying less expensive brands in hopes that I will find something that I like. I also bought sea salts, minced garlic and things like that. The dollar store is great because I can afford anything in the store.
Last night I fixed us a steak dinner. We had steak, baked potato, salad and Texas toast. It was very good.
Have a great day everyone!
Here is another yummy cookie recipe.
