Camping In Missouri
It’s time for us to start making our camping reservations. Missouri has a very nice reservation system for their state parks. The site allows you to see a map of the campground as well as each individual site. Each site has a nice description as well as a photo. My husband and I spend way too much time choosing our sites. We try to get very level sites which is important when you have a motor home. We also try to find a site that will provide the dogs with enough walking room. We try to reserve sites that have one side that does not have another site on it, but that is hard to do. We don’t always achieve our goals though. We spent a long time picking out our site for Labor Day weekend last year and it ended up being terrible. We thought we would have a nice clearing for the dogs to walk, but it turned out to be nothing but rough land with lots of rocks and no grass. The site was also rocky and basically on top of another site. The pictures showed none of these problems. We will not be going back to that park just because none of the sites were any better than the one we chose and the park really did not impress us. It’s the only Missouri State Park that we have been disappointed in.If you ever have the opportunity to camp in Missouri, I recommend checking out our state parks. We really have some interesting ones.
