Weather Complainers and Anchorage
I really get tired of hearing people complain about the weather. It’s okay if you have had a bad storm, a cold snap or a long heat wave and you bring it up. It’s a pet peeve to me when a person complains about it constantly. They need to accept it or move. Moving may not be an option, so please, just accept it as part of where you live. Complaining may make you feel better, but not everyone around you. Okay, I’m done with my rant on weather complainers. The reason I bring this up today is what I heard on the Today Show about Anchorage’s high temperature yesterday. They said the high temperature was -45.
I checked a few websites in Anchorage and I cannot find that temperature, so I’m thinking it had to be with the windchill. Today the forecast is -5 to -15, but right now it is -16. I just wonder how many people who live there complain about their weather. How often do you think someone says “is it cold enough for you?” You might get your head pushed in the snow for a comment like that.
I would love to hear from some Alaskan bloggers. How do your pets survive? Do you dress them in coats, boots, etc.? What type of clothing do you wear? Do you have problems with your car starting? Do people tend to stay home or do you just go about your business on really cold days? Does the media make a big deal about cold weather? Do the kids go to school when it is extremely cold. Our schools close down here in very cold weather because they don’t want the kids freezing while waiting for the bus.
Here is a link showing Anchorage’s weather.

If you live in Anchorage and are facing these type of temperatures, feel free to complain about it, but only for a few days.
