RV Show

Published by pattye under Living Edit This

We attended the RV and Travel Show in Downtown St. Louis today.  It was a nice show.  It was less crowded today than in years past.  We spoke with an employee from the RV store that we frequent and he told us that yesterday was the busiest Thursday that they ever have had at the show  We were surprised considering the economy.  It doesn’t mean that people are buying, of course, but at least people are not staying home.

We purchased a few things for our motor home because the prices were really good.  We were disappointed that the only dealership that had a store there was the one that we shop at all the time.  It would have been nice to have seen items from other dealerships.  We didn’t buy anything exciting.  We bought a book that I had been wanting.  It tells you what services are available at each exit along the highway.  When you are driving a motor home, you want to be sure that you are exiting where you want to exit.  It’s not always easy to turn around.  We also bought a converter for our water heater.  It will convert our water heater from gas to electric.  We bought a few other things, but I can’t think of what they were now.

You know you visit dealerships too often when the sales people recognize you.  We purchased our travel trailer in 2005 and shopped for it for quite a while.  The search for our motor home lasted two years, so we visited several dealerships almost monthly during that time.  I told you that my husband is obsessed with camping.  LOL

I did not see any Class A motor homes that I like better than ours.  Ours is not a high end model, but it suits us perfectly.  We did see a fifth wheel that would be great if we were full timers because it was very roomy. We found a Class C that we really liked, but it was twice as much as the price of our Class A.  We have no plans to sell our Class A any time soon.

We picked up a lot of brochures and literature from campgrounds and places to visit.  We plan on taking a vacation in the spring and then another one in the fall and several weekend trips in between.  Our first trip will probably take place in about a month.  It’s hard to believe that it’s almost camping season again.

Today was fun.  We took our time and enjoyed seeing all of the latest models even though we are no longer in the market.
