Wild Middle-Aged Woman is Tired

Published by pattye under Country Life Edit This

I’ve been so busy today that I haven’t had a chance to update my blog.  I stayed up until 11:30 p.m. last night and didn’t sleep well once I went to sleep.  Jack and Scout woke me up several times.  I wake up naturally around 6 a.m., so I was up at that time.  I had to drive the trash down our road for pick up.  The trash truck doesn’t come by the house.  It’s a pain to take it to the end of the road.  Hubby normally does it on his way to work, but since he is gone this week, I had that honor.

The sewing machine appears to be great.  I tried out several stitches last night.  It has some decorative stitches for quilting or whatever else you want to use them on.  I didn’t try all the stitches because I would have to change the foot on it and I didn’t feel like doing that since I was tired.  It’s probably not hard to do, but I figured why get aggravated with it.  I couldn’t get the automated threader to work, but doing manually is not hard.  Hubby said he will show me how to do it when he gets home.

Today, I worked until I ran out of work and then I headed to the city.  I stopped at several sewing stores and hobby shops.  I only bought one swatch of material and two spools of thread.  I saw a lot of things I liked, but I don’t want to waste good material until I feel more comfortable making the collars.  I searched for the hardware for the collars in the stores, but couldn’t find it.  I must be looking in the wrong type of stores.  I came home and placed an order from the lady I ordered my first collar instruction and hardware kit from.  I just wanted to see if I could find it locally and I can’t.

I received a scare in the mail today.  It was a 1099 from the place we purchased our motor home from last year.  It said that they paid us $3,100 and they reported that to the IRS.  I called them to ask them about it.  They did some checking and told me that they have a new accountant and apparently she made a big mistake.  I wonder how many people she did this to.  They said they were correcting the mistake.  I really didn’t want to have to pay more money to the IRS and I already filed my taxes for the year, so it scared me.

The storms were not bad last night.  I went from wearing t-shirts back to sweatshirts and from air conditioning to having a fire in the fireplace all in about 24 hours.

Happy Wednesday!
